how to Apply peel + STick wallpaper
Ensure your walls are smooth, clean, and dry. For specific guidance on preparing different types of walls, refer to our checklist. Make sure you have all the necessary tools before you start. You can find everything you need at a local paint or hardware store. Installing wallpaper is more enjoyable and easier with a second pair of hands. Invite a friend, family member, or colleague to lend a hand. Having someone to help can make a big difference in the success and enjoyment of your DIY project.
Preparing your wall is key
Our Peel & Stick wallpaper requires a smooth surface to adhere properly.
Textured walls, including those with light texture, orange peel, knockdown, or rough surfaces, are not suitable for self-adhesive wallpaper. If your wall has an uneven surface, we recommend checking our Wall Preparation Guide for guidance on preparing different types of walls.
Use warm water and mild soap to wipe down the wall with a damp cloth or sponge. This will remove any dirt, grime, or grease that may interfere with the adhesive. Let the wall dry completely, which may take at least 24 hours. By following these simple steps, you'll be ready to install your Peel & Stick wallpaper and enjoy a beautiful, long-lasting finish.
NOTE: If your wall has been freshly painted, wait for the paint to cure for an absolute minimum of 5 days but more time is reccomended. Depending on the type of paint used, this can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks. Check the paint can or manufacturer's instructions to determine the recommended curing time. This ensures a strong bond between the paint and the wallpaper.

wallpaper prep
Unroll the wallpaper roll and cut along the dotted lines to separate each individual strip of the design.
Identify each strip by the number printed at the top. To ensure correct placement, arrange the strips in hanging order on a clean, flat surface, such as the floor.
NOTE: Store them in the room where they will be installed for at least 24 hours to allow the wallpaper to acclimate to the humidity. This step is crucial in minimizing the risk of shrinkage and visible seams.
NOTE: The length of each strip should match the height of your room (the size you entered when you ordered).

mark you wall
Use a plumb line and pencil to mark the width of each strip. Check its straight using a spirit level as this will ensure your strip is applied straight on the wall.
NOTE: The first panel is important as it guides the rest.
Make sure the wall is smooth and clean. Make sure you have allowed the strips to lay flat for at least 24 hours before you apply them.
NOTE: If you added a safety margin make sure you centre the strip vertically on the wall so you have an even margin at the top and at the bottom.
Example: If your wall height is 200cm and you ordered your wallpaper at 220cm you would need to allow 10cm at the top and bottom.
step three
Hang your paper
Start at the top making sure the right edge of your strip follows the line you marked out.
Peel the wallpaper from the backing sheet about 25cm at a time and apply the wallpaper to the wall before you unpeel the next part.
Do not remove all of the protective paper at once. Use a wallpaper brush to smooth down and to remove bubbles as you go, so as not to mark the print.
To continue the installation, hang the next strip to the right of the previous one, carefully matching up the pattern.

Making sure there are no visible seams
If the strip isn't perfectly positioned, don't worry! You can gently loosen it and reposition it as needed. This allows for easy adjustments, giving you the flexibility to achieve a flawless installation. Simply take your time, and make any necessary adjustments to ensure a smooth, professional-looking finish.
step four
trimming + drying
After all the strips have been applied to the wall, trim any excess from the edges by using a sharp knife. Use a straight edge to keep the paper from tearing and to get a nice clean edge
